Tax Filing Services Refund Policy

Thank you for choosing to file your taxes with Column Tax! On this page, you can learn how to request refunds for payments made through Stripe to Column for tax filing services.

Refund eligibility

Please note this policy only applies to payments made directly to Column Tax using Stripe in the Column Tax product. This policy does not apply to payments sent to other companies who partner with Column Tax to offer tax filing services or to taxing authorities, like the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).

Additionally, please note Column Tax does not provide refunds in the following situations:

  • Tax returns submitted through the Column Tax product that are accepted by any taxing authority, whether federal or state.
  • Tax returns prepared for paper mail filing through the Column Tax product.

To be eligible for a refund, your tax return must not have been accepted by the IRS. To be processed, the request must include evidence that your tax return has been submitted through a different tax filing product.

Requesting & receiving a refund

To request a tax filing services refund, please contact Column Tax support via your partner app or partner website and share the reason for your request. Upon receipt, the Column Tax team will evaluate your request and respond, usually within five business days.

If your request for a refund is approved, the refund will be sent via your original method of payment. You will typically receive the credit within 10 business days of approval.

Policy updates

Column Tax reserves the right to modify or update this refund policy at any time. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting to our website.
